Business History

CC Personal Safety Training is headed by Carol Cockcroft and was founded in 1994.

Carol has 25 years experience in self-protection and is registered with the Association and Register of Self-protection Instructors and a member of the Institute of Conflict Management. She is also trained in close protection.

Local Authority Experience

Having spent twelve years as a front line local government officer - during which time she experienced regular conflict, aggression and physical violence - Carol has worked to combine areas of expertise utilising material from many disciplines. She studied and taught martial arts but at that time kept the two spheres completely separate.

As course director she has developed and delivered course material that is effective and appropriate to the needs of local authority staff.

Running courses throughout the UK since 1994, she has worked collaboratively and independently in a consultative capacity on personal safety issues.

Range of Disciplines

CC Personal Safety Training utilise material from all disciplines and Carol's personal front line experience permits tailored courses to suit the needs of local authority staff and all businesses whose staff are placed in potentially confrontational situations when dealing with the general public. Carol places strong emphasis on "the human factor" in terms of devising workable strategies for specific environments. To reflect her evolving, progressive approach, Carol has modified the material delivered to local authority staff to work, almost exclusively, on awareness, avoidance and controlling tactics with very little or no hands on.

The harsh reality of contemporary conflict situations requires that consideration must be given to breakaway techniques - best practices of safe extrication from physical harm when physically assaulted - and these are offered as follow up material as a support module, available upon request.
